It all started with Domino...

Domino was a beautiful three year old dalmatian. Her best friend had buckled her into her "dog seat belt" in the back seat. Both the driver and Domino were wearing their seat belts. Less than ten minutes later... the corner... the deer... the accident.

During the accident, Domino's dog seat belt "failed" in the crash. She was violently thrown around inside the vehicle... frightened and injured... Domino escaped the vehicle and fled from the scene.

The driver also suffered serious injuries however, her seat belt had done exactly what it was supposed to do... keep her in the seat. It took us quite some time to safely extricate the driver from the jeep. Even though she was injured and in great pain.... She never complained. She didn't care at all about her own injuries... All she wanted... was her dog.

I made this young girl a promise... if she would let us load her into the ambulance... I would find her dog.

We never found Domino...

Is this harness crash - tested?

Absolutely - Crash / Sled 30 mph Testing using a 110 lb surrogate test dog to ***MVSS 213 Standards. Performed at UMTRI - University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute.

***This is the Gold Standard used for premium harness protection in an accident.

No other dog seat belt or harness has been crash tested at this 110 lb. level

IMPORTANT: A Crash Test at 75 pounds and 110 pounds are not the same test.

This 35 pound difference equals an increase of 30% or 1100 pounds of crash force. This can be the diffence in your dogs survivability or risk of severe even fatal injuries in an accident.

Why Custom Build every harness?

Because large dogs and growing puppies vary significantly by breed. Size, shape, weight, build and body strength are important factors to consider - your dogs safety depends on a proper fit.

Can my dog still move in the car?

Yes - But in a controlled, restricted range to reduce dangerous impact movement and distractions. Sitting upright, looking out window and laying down is easy and comfortable for your Big Dog.

Is this only for large dogs?

This Seat Belt Syatem is specifically designed for medium and large powerful breeds where standard products often fail. A dog under 30 pounds should be protected by a soft sided carrier. Never by a dog seat belt.

Are Big Dog Seat Belts adjustable?

Yes - the Shoulder and Chest loops are adjustable to accomodate for average growth and dietary or exercise fluctuation. The body length is not adjustable - This is the Core and strength section of the Big Dog Seat Belt and not adjustable for safety.. It is vital for your dogs safety that the harness is snug and fitting properly.
