Domino was a beautiful three year old dalmatian. Her best friend had buckled her into her 'dog seat belt' in the back seat. Both the driver and Domino were wearing their seat belts. Less than ten minutes later... the corner... the deer... the accident.
During the accident, Domino's dog seat belt failed in the crash. She was violently thrown around inside the vehicle... frightened and injured,.. Domino fled from the scene.
The driver also suffered serious injuries however, her seat belt had done exactly what it was supposed to do... keep her in the seat. It took us quite some time to safely extricate the driver from the jeep. Even though she was injured and in great pain.... She never complained. She didn't care at all about her own injuries... All she wanted... was her dog.
I made this young girl a promise... if she would let us load her into the ambulance... I would find her dog.
We never found Domino...
